Welcome To The Sammy Chat Brat Site This site is dedicated to Sammy Kershaw and his many devoted fans. Samuel Paul Kershaw was born February 24, 1958 in Abbeville, Louisiana.  After his father passed away, and being the eldest of four children, Sammy started to pursue his dreams and started playing nightclubs around the Lafayette area when he was 12. After working miscellaneous jobs, he signed a recording contract with Mercury Nashville in December 1990.  To date, there have been 9 albums, with a duet album with Lorrie Morgan due out in April. Being the humanitarian that he is, Sammy is very dedicated to causes relating to abused, sick and underprivileged children.  In 1994 he founded the Sammy Kershaw Foundation of Acadiana.  The foundation helps local agencies as well as some nationally know ones. Besides being a terrific artist, he is into every aspect of his career.  On top of that, he is a dad to 5, and he also maintains a working ranch and gives so much back to his fans. He and the fan club have set up a forum on Delphi, where fans come to post to each other, and chat.  When his schedule permits it, Sammy drops by to say hello and to post back to fans.  Those of us that visit the forum have come to be affectionally known as the chat brats.
